Most of the times when you are applying for jobs may not get interview calls at the same time when your friend with same skills and academic qualifications will get interview calls and succeed at job interview. There will be some frustration and raises the question that what will be the reason behind this? When you are not receiving an interview call then the reasons might be below:

Requirement of target employers: When you are applying for a job then read the job description carefully and note down the important points for which an employer looking for. List out your core skills, experience, certifications and accomplishments on your work place or academics.

Customize your resume: Before applying for a job review yourself that your resume is more than 2 pages or not? Is your resume presenting you as a solver from the perspective of employer? Go through the job description in detail and find a match between your skills and the requirement of the position. Customize your resume as per the job requirement. The other thing also need to be checked is that it showcase your talent and experience making you a candidate different than others?

Relevant jobs: It is also mandatory to check that you are applying for ‘relevant’ jobs and ‘suitable’ jobs where your background matches the need of the employer?

Cover note: Is your cover note conveying the right message to employer? Do research and find out the name of the hiring manager and address the cover letter to create impression.

Follow-Up: Do follow up calls if you don’t receive any communication by finding the hiring manager contact number.

Recruitment agencies: Consult a recruitment agency and build relationships to make contacts by demonstrating your value to get the interview call from their clients.
