There is a need of academic advisors in college campuses. A recent survey by student engagement says that only 4 out of 10 students express that student counselors are the best source of advisors with regard to academic plans. The survey also reveals that some of them take advice from friends and family only. And one in 10 students never meets the academic counselor. “When it comes to helping students be engaged, to give them advice about what they need to do outside the classroom, faculty are not always the best,” said by executive director of National Academic Advising Association.
