Wisdom jobs survey reveals that a CV without any job details related to the applied job is of no use. The survey found that the most annoying elements in a CV are no specific content related to specific job was mentioned by 47% employers ,33 percent mentioned that bad formatting and 27% mentioned about unprofessional mail id and 22% recruiters ignore the heavy text based CVs ,but only 12% CVs rejected based on the photograph.

Responding to the question of what kind of CV format is preferred, more than 68% word document based CVs annoyed, more than one third of PDF based CVs annoyed and only 2% image based CVs annoyed as per the survey.

However, only 10 percent mentioned that cover letter is important in short listing process and 72 percent mentioned that cover letter is not important but adds value and only 18 percent mentioned that cover letter is not at all important.

What is the ideal length of a CV?
One page is the ideal length of a CV mentioned by 20%, among them 80% mentioned that 2 pages CV are preferable and 0% preferred 3 pages CV. The survey results found that 36% junior level CVs have greater rate of annoying elements and 44% mid level CVs and 20% senior level CV s have greater rate of annoying elements according to the survey.

What are the most important elements in a CV?
Recruiter’s fond of CVs without grammatical /spelling mistakes (56%), length of CV (43%), readability (36%), logical presentation order (29%) and formatting (20%) are considered by most of recruiters.
