According to a recent survey Bengaluru has registered a 2 per cent rise in talent demand and has the largest share of jobs available across sectors in metros. Bangalore city has the highest number of jobs across metro cities. Nearly 40 percent of jobs out of 2.5 lakh jobs available across sectors in the metros followed by 26 per cent of the jobs are in Delhi NCR, 16 per cent in Mumbai, 11 per cent in Chennai and 7 per cent in Kolkata. The survey also saw that Bangalore has registered a 2 per cent rise in talent demand while Delhi NCR has reported a 1 per cent rise in the past eight months. Mumbai has also reported a 2 per cent during the period while Chennai has reported a drop of 1 per cent in hiring activity. Sectors such as IT-software, IT-hardware, software services, consulting services, manufacturing and finance created huge opportunities in Bangalore.
IT sector accounts for 50 percent of employment creation of the total jobs available in the city, opportunities in banking & financial sector, hospitality, retail and biotechnology sectors are also growing. Professionals with 2-5 years experience had great job opportunities with the salary range of 4- Rs 5 lakh per annum for starters/entry-level professionals. IT/telecom-software, sales/business development, IT/telecom-hardware, finance and operations/customer service/tele calling professionals are most in-demand in the city. The city is noted as the ‘Best city for working couples’. It is not only entrepreneurs and techies; working couples also love the city. Nearly 24 per cent India Inc working couples said Bangalore was their preferred city to live in. Bangalore is backed by a strong IT infrastructure and being home to a large number of startups, job market is only going to grow further. The survey also mentioned that the city has many other ingredients of Silicon Valley. From being a preferred place to work and live with great tech infrastructure and a cosmopolitan life style Bangalore is becoming ‘the hub’ for startups and established companies.
