Recent study found that only 4 percent of the graduated engineers have the skills to be employable in a technology startup. The survey findings reveal that, India producing around 8 lakh engineering graduates every year, skill shortage is a huge problem to get employment to all. Startups look for the candidates with strong technical skills; problem-solving skills; work management and prioritization; learning attitude; and communication skills. Established companies have time to train engineers but startups need people who can get to work from day one. The study also mentioned that, startups have witnessed explosive growth in the last few years and the demand for engineers is on the rise.
