Samsung Electronics is looking to cut 19% of its head quartered staff as per a statement. This move would imply Samsung is letting go of nearly 10,000 people. The headcount as of June 30, sat at 98,999. The company will target across areas such as human resources, finance and public relations. Beyond this, samsung also looking to cut expenses next year as the pressure mounts. Samsung’s global Smartphone share fell by three percent in the second quarter. In 2014, samsung’s sales reported around 206 trillion won ($171 billion, ├é┬ú111 billion) but are expected to fall to around 200 trillion won ($166 billion, ├é┬ú108 billion) this year due to the release of Apple iPhone and updated tablets which continue to be strong performers globally.
