According to the recent survey it was noticed that online hiring activity in India jumped 32% in July from a year ago. Overall job market was stable and hiring activities picked up in the sectors such as BFSI, which registered a 73% jump in hiring momentum in July followed by production and manufacturing (72%) and automation. The government initiative, Make in India programme set to create 100 smart cities and more job opportunities across the sectors. There was a rise in demand for senior level professionals across the sectors and increased hiring activities in 13 occupational groups. City-wise, all 13 cities covered by the index showed a positive online hiring trend on an annual basis. Baroda took the lead (up 55 per cent) followed by Pune (up 43%).
