More than 60% firms have flexible work policy

According to the recent study by Wisdomjobs.com mentioned below facts about work from home policies. The survey results found that work from home increases productivity. Moreover the study found some interesting facts such as women are more interested to work from home than men. Nearly 70 percent of women feel they are able manage work life balance with work from home. But only 40 percent men prefer to work from home due to long distance from home.

Work place flexibility makes employees happy and 60 percent of organizations have a formal policy on work place flexibility. Many organizations have recognized the importance of work form home and likely to implement more flexible options in near future. Meanwhile, 20 percent of the surveyed candidates mentioned that work from home creates communication gaps between teams and other 26 percent mentioned that they are overlooked for promotion.

City wise findings reveal that over 60% of the respondents from Mumbai and Bangalore prefer to work from home and 46 percent of respondents from Delhi and Hyderabad are interested to work from home. The other cities include Pune, Ahmadabad, and Kolkata with 34%, 25% and 20% respectively. Sector wise analysis found that IT sector tops the list of work from home providers followed by healthcare, education and finance.

Employees who work from home took fewer breaks and sick days compared to their office-bound counterparts. Work from home employees displayed more satisfaction towards their work and less exhaustion related to their day jobs compared to the office group. Companies which want to reduce turn-over rates, increase productivity, and reduce costs that come with maintaining a physical workspace. Work from home is helpful to both employers and employees and it is critical for retaining and motivating your key employees. Many companies are providing work from home opportunity to retain key employees and reduce rent costs and staff turn-over.
