Recent survey found that use of technology is integrated in our working lives and its impact on us. The survey conducted among mid level employees across work experience and across industries. While technology is being leveraged at the work place to manage their work pipeline, to stay connected to other co-workers, to stay updated on work related matters. Over 86 percent of people keep updated on the latest technology news and devices.
Among them, 78 percent of people do it online and 60 percent of people updated through friends and colleagues. More than half (55%) of the surveyed candidates opined that they cannot even imagine an office without tech amenities. On the flip side only 14 percent feel that they do not require technology at work. Besides, 60 percent of candidates mentioned that they carry their own devices to work and almost one fourth are willing to do so.
However, 68 percent of professionals have their own laptops, while 34 percent have own tablets and 75 percent of professionals today own two mobile devices. The increasing use of gadgets feel obliged to respond to emails and calls outside of work hours. The survey found that over 60 percent people are connected to work even during non-office work hours or when on vacation. On the flipside, nearly 40 percent people are not interested to being available for any urgent requirements on vacation and only 10% remain totally disconnected.
Over 35 percent of people felt that technology was expected have a more flexible work life and resulted in further integrating work into our personal lives. The important fact is that one-third of people surveyed say that their social level of interaction in the real world has decreased due to increased virtual interactions.
