Job Satisfaction dominates over Salary: Study

According to the recent survey, to know about job seeker’s preferences while working for a company found that some job seekers were get attracted to the salary packages rather than quality work. And some other people considered quality of work rather than fat paying cheques. But many jobseekers considered career growth over salary while accepting a job offer. When the employees were asked about the biggest reason for staying at a company, then many people clearly stated career growth as the major reason. The survey also found some interesting facts that many job seekers are not bothered about job security, salary and work culture.

Nearly 25 percent of the respondents stated that, salary was the biggest reason to choose a company and 22 percent of the respondents stated that work culture will be the major reason for picking an employer. Nearly 21 percent of the surveyed candidates opined that job security is the primary reason for choosing a company. Many people showed less interest for public sector and government jobs. 2012 survey results stated that job security is the primary reason for choosing a company.

Another survey conducted by a Swedish branding company revealed that, companies like Google, Apple and Microsoft and the Reserve Bank of India were ideal employers of the Indian university students. When the same question asked to these students, they replied as high future earnings’, ‘a creative and dynamic work environment’ and ‘leadership opportunities are the major reasons to chose a company. Engineering students are attracted towards a creative and dynamic work environment’, ‘innovation’ and ‘a friendly working environment’.
