IIT Madras survey shows increase in preference to work in India

A recent survey among IIT Madras alumni has found that preference to work in India is increasing among recent batches. The survey mentioned that there is a drop in number of graduates working and living in abroad. The survey stated that the percentage of IITM grads living abroad peaked to 40% in the mid-70’s to mid-’90s batches, and dropped to 34% post-2000. The drop is even more severe post-2010, down to the 20% range. There was a considerable growth in jobs creation across manufacturing professions, versus IT & software.
