HP, Foxconn team up to build cloud servers

US computer giant Hewlett Packard and Taiwan’s Foxconn unveiled plans on Wednesday to join forces to build sere vers optimized for the internet cloud. Foxcon is known as Hon Hai Precision, which is used for making Apple’s iPhones, but also produces other equipment including BlackBerry phones. This joint venture is expected to increase its competition levels with rival firms like Lenovo and IBM. “Cloud computing is radically changing the entire supply chain for the server market as customers place new demands on the breadth of design capability, value-oriented solutions and large-scale and global manufacturing capabilities,” said by founder and chairman of Foxconn.
