Every employer looks for a talented candidate to serve in their organization. Initially, you should have a clear idea for what kind of opportunity you are looking for. Your objective statement should project your career goals and that statement should be crisp and concise at the top of your resume. If you have any particular choices, avoid it to mention in your resume and include it in your cover letter.
Select the important points of your resume and write them as paragraphs in our resume. Highlight your experiences and add them in the summary of your resume. Because, usually a recruiter spend an average 1 minute time on each resume for screening. The summary should contain all important points of your resume.
The work experience section should be in order like name of the company, designation and its working period. Give briefing about the job description in bullet points. There are three types of resume styles:
- Chronological style:This model starts with listing your work history and responsibilities, with the most recent position listed first.
2. Functional Style:This model will focuses on the skills and experiences in varying careers you have.
3. Combination of both: It starts with the most recent skills and experiences and continued with remaining work history.
Your educational details with the completion year are compulsory: Mention the details of your academic background along with the percentage, if you gained any. You can also mention the projects/internships if you have undertaken any.
Add awards and recognisations if you have received any, which adds value to your resume.
Include the reference section if required.
Remember that, your resume should not be more than 3 pages, even if you are a senior person also. It should be an eye catching and get attention of the recruiters. Make a note that, your CV should be short and concise and grab the attention of recruiters. It is also a personal marketing tool to promote you in the market.
