A fine art degree provides employment opportunities to the professionals across the industries and roles. Besides arts and painting there are plenty of opportunities for the fine arts graduates. Here are the career paths for fine arts graduates:
Animator/Multimedia artist:
Recent PWC study mentioned that Indian animation industry is expected to rise by 23 percent by 2016 which will result in increasing demand for skilled and trained animation workforce. A degree in fine arts along with certificate course or a bachelor’s degree in animation will help one to get the job. Job profile includes creating animation sequences or storyboards for advertising agencies, IT software, gaming and media & entertainment organizations. Average salary for entry level will be between Rs 1.5 to 2.5 lakh.
Art director/Visualiser
A graduate with graphic design or multimedia design with a bachelor fine arts degree are eligible for art directors. Here the candidate needs to have technical expertise over computer, software applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw. The other required skills include ability to think creatively and provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing tactics. Companies across IT, advertising/PR/event management and internet/dotcom are recruiting for such profiles. Average salary for entry level will be between Rs 2 to 3.5 lakh.
Creative writer
A bachelor in fine arts in creative writing may find jobs as technical writers, freelance writers, copy writers and journalists. The demand is more in e-commerce sector and other sectors including IT, consulting services, media & entertainment and internet/dotcom. Creative writers are also hired by advertising or public relations agencies and publishing houses. A fine art graduate with strong writing skills and ability to meet deadlines are required to apply.
Artist/Painter
Professional painter/artist is the preferred career choice for fine art graduates. Work orders will be increased along with the experience and creativity. One may display work at art galleries, museums or private gatherings or even tie up with corporate houses who buy art pieces for their offices.
