H-1B quota may be used up on Day 1

The demand for US H-1B work for coming years is expected to be high and quota of 65,000 is going to be exhausted on the first day of opening itself. Last year that cap was reached in five days and ended by April 5. Now, with the American economy improving, unemployment rate dropping and IT demand recovering – partly on account of the need to invest in new technologies like cloud, mobility, and analytics – the requirement for foreign technology workers is rising fast. The H-1B is a non-immigrant visa which allows US employers to hire temporary foreign workers.
