India’s biggest online market place Flipkart has launched a progressive childcare policy to make the work-life balance easier for employees who have become parents. Flipkart has revamped its maternity leave policy in July and collaborated with four creches in the city under its new Daycare Support Program. The move is expected to find resonance among a large segment of Flipkart’s 33,000 employees, many of whom are new or expecting parents. This move is beneficial for junior and mid level managers for whom the cost of quality childcare can pinch. Many companies such as SAP Labs, Adobe, and PNB MetLife India Insurance have been making changes to their adoption and surrogacy benefit policies.
