UAE businesses across key sectors plan to retain the UAE nationals on their payrolls. Recent survey mentioned that it is difficult to retain the employees rather than attracting new employees in UAE. The survey mentioned that more than half of the employees are positive to stay with their employees for three years. Another 14 per cent said they would do so only for five years with the current employer. Meanwhile, employers are offering retention bonuses or promotions and career opportunities to retain key employees. Along with these benefits employees are showing heightened interest in reward and recognition programmes or practices not involving cash. Leadership and development programmes were considered equally and most important by employers and employees alike, the report adds.
