Driven by IT sector, Karnataka is country's top job creator

Recent study by Assocham mentioned that Karnataka has been ranked as the country’s top job creating state with 24% share followed by Maharashtra with 23 per cent share and Tamil Nadu with 10.5 per cent share. Sector wise analysis found that Information technology (IT) sector created about 57 per cent of about nine lakh job openings, followed by services (19 per cent) and manufacturing (11 per cent) during January-March, 2016.While ,Banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector accounted for just over eight per cent share followed by construction and real estate (3.5 per cent share). While, ITEs accounted for over 65 per cent share followed by services (16 per cent), manufacturing (eight per cent), BFSI (six per cent) and construction and real estate sector (2.5 per cent) in Karnataka state.
