Cisco's India unit won't cut jobs in routers business

Cisco world’s largest networking equipment provider was cut 5 percent of jobs of its global workforce 4000 employees. The Indian arm of Cisco Systems is not cutting jobs in its routers and switches business, top executives said, despite reducing workforce globally as part of an effort to restore growth and shift focus from traditional networking hardware to newer technologies. At present it has 11000 employees in India operations and considering 500 to 1,000 layoffs in its core routers and network switches division over the next one year.
