The American technology company Cisco to offer sick leave to the employees for taking care of an unwell family member. The company has provision for 12 days of sick leave a year for its employees. The company has revived its leave policy to claim days from their sick leave quota if they require time off to care for an elder, a spouse, a partner or a child. The revised leave policy also includes maternity leave which allows an employee to take 24 weeks of maternity leave. However, employees returning from maternity leave will also be allowed to work flexibly as and when required. Besides, the company also provides 24 weeks of surrogacy leave for those who are exploring alternative options to become parents.
