To overcome the staff crunch, fair trade regulator CCI is trying to hire more staff to make the deputation terms more attractive to attract right talent. As per the reports CCI is having more than half of the positions in the investigation division of CCI (Competition Commission of India) are vacant. CCI is also trying to make up for the shortage by engaging contractual experts and professional. CCI chairman said that Very often, people are not willing to come for deputation on short periods. So, the organisational architecture of the DG’s office could perhaps be modified to provide for a mix of permanent staff and deputation, which will then give it (manpower) a pool all the time.
