Capgemini buys Igate for $4.04 billion

French IT giant Capgemini is acquiring the US based IGate for $4.04 billion. It is one of the biggest M&As in the IT services. Before this, company acquired the US based EDS for $13.9 billion in 2008, which is one of the biggest IT services deal so far. More recently, Canada’s CGI acquired UK’s Logica for $2.6 billion. This deal is expected to strengthen the Capgemini’s operating margin and earnings per share. Capgemini chairman and CEO, Paul Hermelin said”The combined Group strengthens Capgemini’s position as a leading company in IT services, outsourcing and consulting, with an estimated combined revenue of 12.5 billion, combined operating margin above 10% and around 190,000 people serving clients worldwide. The new company expected to offer new platform-based and intellectual property-based solutions to help clients respond to and stay at the forefront of their market
