You have a well-paid job and you might also be doing well. But something seems to be missing. Your job doesn’t seem to be challenging or you are simply not moving ahead in your career. Many have also claimed that this is nothing but the end of an active career life and has both internal and external causes. This, however, is not true. 1) Assess your career

2) Set realistic goals
Set realistic short to mid-term career goals of where you would like to be in your career. “The goals should be realistic keeping in mind the context of your industry and organization, i.e. if your company is down-sizing, you cannot expect to have dramatic growth and you should also regularly evaluate your progress against these goals.
3) Upgrade skill sets
You also need to continuously sharpen the saw, i.e. upgrade your skills and enroll for relevant professional training. “It is recommended that a professional look at constant upgrading one’s skill sets in line with the industry requirements and one’s own company. This shall keep one ahead and alive in the race with great job satisfaction.
4) Increase visibility
Increase your visibility across the organization and industry. For instance, “volunteer for projects which have a wide impact across the company. Representing your company in industry forums also helps.
