Aegis is the first Indian BPO company by following the strategy like ‘cross-shoring,’ and acquisitions to rule the insular call-centre markets of Japan and Korea. Aegis is planning to sell its US, Philippines and Costa Rican centers to Teleperformance for over $600 million (Rs 3,000 crore) to foot print on the faster-growing Asia-Pacific markets. The US market is mature and though it is large, there is a lot of competition. On the other hand, Asia-Pacific is immature, it’s growing quickly and we would have first mover advantage over there.
